Project management and site engineering for two regional civil contractors, run remotely from South East Queensland. You carry their delivery: programs, site engineering, QA, subcontractors, claims and variations, and the weekly discipline that keeps a job from drifting. Between delivery rounds you help them win the next one, supporting tenders and handling the general engineering questions that come up across both businesses. Two clients means variety and it means judgement. You decide what needs you this week and what can wait, and you will see your own tender work turn into the jobs you then deliver.
Remote from South East Queensland. You work from home, and we get together for the sessions that matter. Site travel as required, in short stints. No camp, no roster, nothing resembling a FIFO life. On site, we cover your travel and accommodation and pay a meal allowance, and on top of that you earn a site allowance of 40% of your daily equivalent salary for every day you are there. At this band that is roughly $200 to $230 a day. Two contractors, so the work varies week to week. If you like the same job every day, this is not it. Permanent salaried role, not a contract seat. Discretionary bonuses on top of salary: one when a tender you supported is won, one when a project you ran is delivered under budget. Both are at the company's discretion and are not part of your fixed pay.
A civil project engineering or site engineering background, with jobs you have run yourself. Able to hold two clients at once without dropping either. Programs, claims, variations and subcontractors are familiar ground. Enough estimating to be useful at tender time, even if it is not your main game. A sharp, plain writer. Most of this job is communicating clearly with people you are not standing next to.
